"Personally my husband and I had never been to an event at the Sky Room but had heard it was a beautiful space. When looking for a venue, for whatever reason, I thought Sky Room would be out of our reach in terms of budget and just the overall realm of possibility. After looking at it, I of course fell in love. It was spacious, had beautiful attention to detail and fit in perfectly with our theme. I loved that they had restored the venue to it's original 1929 glory, the charm and character was like nothing I had seen when viewing other venues in the area.
After speaking with Vern, we were pleasantly surprised that this amazing venue was available for our date, and that it DID fit within our budget! Throughout our engagement, the whole family was wonderful to work with. Every time I would call with yet another question, they were very helpful in putting me at ease and making sure I had all the details.
After our rehearsal dinner, the wedding party and I were all up in our Honeymoon suite toasting to the next day when we see the flashing marque above The Black's Building. Much to our surprise it flashed "Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hadenfeldt Sept 12th, 2015!" All of us were so excited, and sat enthusiastically starring out the window for the next time it would flash across the night sky. The attention to detail was impeccable.
On our wedding day, the venue was more than I could have ever envisioned. The enormous windows and high ceilings highlighted our decor perfectly. Everything was breathtaking. The staff that day were amazing, we had zero mishaps with delivery, building access, or otherwise. Cocktails held in the entry way and Tea Room went off without a hitch and created a perfect transition into dinner. We had our caterers set up in the Tea Room for a buffet style dinner that still allowed us the room we required in the Sky Room. The sound of the music in the venue was perfectly amplified by the space as we danced the night away. The next morning we had gift opening in the Sky Room as well, being in the space again led all our guests to reminisce about what an incredible night was had. It couldn't have gone better, we didn't want to leave!
I can't thank the staff and family of Sky Room and Nelson Properties enough for helping to create such a flawless and fabulous wedding day for my husband and I. After the experience the investment in the venue was MORE than worth it. You get so much for the price! We would recommend this venue for anyone looking to make their wedding or event unforgettable! Thank you so much!!
